As I was watching the snow fall, I remembered reading that there aren't two snowflakes the same. They're all unique. So holds true for people. Sure they may look, walk, talk similarly as someone else, but they are all unique. This understanding is good for someone who understands and bad for someone who doesn't understand.
For those who understand the uniqueness of people, they understand that all people need to be treated differently to accomplish the same goal. Those who do not understand the uniqueness of people have difficulty helping people to accomplish the same goal.
Since there are people that don't know that they "don't know", it takes caring, understanding people to help them. It is only through talking with people, reading books and listening to educational CD's/tapes can you learn how to help different people differently.
Our education came from a proven system developed by a team associated with Fred Harteis, president of Harteis International and i Team. It was through their guidance and patience that help my wife and me to understand that is was OK to be different and how to deal with the differences.
We've learned to open our minds and ears to learn about what we "don't know."
