Jobs added through 2016 (projected): 4 million
Seven of the 20 fastest growing occupations are health care-related. This is a booming industry for several reasons. Clinical developments, such as less invasive surgical techniques, continue to increase the longevity and improve the quality of life of many Americans.
Professional and Business Services
Jobs added through 2016 (projected): 4.1 million
This industry includes advertising, public relations and computer systems design. But the areas within the industry that will see the most significant job growth are management and scientific and technology consulting.
State & Local Government
Jobs added through 2016 (projected): 1.4 million
Education will fuel growth in this industry, thanks to initiatives like universal preschool and all-day kindergarten. There will be an increase in demand for teachers and administrators
